Spamilicious
Just a heads up that I’m having major issues with spam comments, so I’m now moderating comments. So – it will take a little while before your comments show up, since I need to approve them. Thanks!
And FYI – I will vote for whatever presidential candidate promises to behead all convicted spammers. That’s the only platform I care about.

if only we could find a candidate tough enough to tackle the big issues like spam!

Boo spammers… last week I got hit for a couple days in a row, about a hundred spam comments. They dried up it seems before I had to take drastic measures. Good luck despamming.

darby: me? president? why… you just might be on to something!
sizzle: seriously. i mean, when are we going to have a president who understands the struggles of the common blogger?
asia: thanks! i just couldn’t keep up with it – i was getting 50-75 spam comments a day, and they started popping up on the new posts, so i had to pull the plug. f*ing spammmers.

I’m voting for the spammer-beheading candidate, too. Spam in any form, canned or virtual, is icky.

have you thought about using haloscan? i hate to type this outloud but… i use haloscan and have remained blissfully spam free. (now i’ve said that we all know i’m totally screwed and spam will come a callin’…)
anyway, the moderator thing is good, because, truthfully, i’ve always secretly sought your approval, and now i will have tangible evidence that i have it if my comment appears on the blog.

I think beheading is a little harsh. Maybe just cut their hands off at the wrist.

shari: wait – have you ever had fried spam and macaroni and cheese? it was one of my favorite meals growing up… not all spam is bad!
mainja: i’m not ready to switch yet (partly because i think whenever you switch over, you lose all previous comments), but that’s good to know! and just so you know, i approved your comment w/o even reading it first – you carry that much authority around here!
rhea: well, i figure if i start out proposing beheading, it will give me some wiggle room to negotiate down to public flogging.

Fried spam with mac&cheese?? Um… you know, I think I may have to choose my own restaurants at TC’07 afterall.

Weird, some of your posts don’t have a space for me to leave comments, even though there are other comments listed. Wonder if that’s my browser.
Anyway, approve away. Spam sucks.

shari: oh you’ll eat it and you’ll LIKE IT!
karl: that’s because i’ve been closing down comments on all posts older than a couple days. that was my first attempt at fighting spam, but then it just made the spam appear on my current posts, so now i’ve switched to the comment approval. i agree – spam sucks.

I’m always in awe of those who don’t moderate. Mine would be a mess if I didn’t.
