Games Games Games!
Today we’re going to play a game called Three Truths and a Lie. The goal is to see if you can distinguish fact from fiction.
1. I love honey.
2. I love lattés.
3. Starbucks now makes honey lattés.
4. I think the Starbucks honey latté is the most delicious beverage I’ve ever tasted in my entire life.
Hint: They’re repulsive.

I love this game. I’ve played it a few times at social events. Number 4 is the lie.

rhea: i had such high hopes for that latte. how could it *not* be good? and yet, it was like a hot cup of burnt sugar.

Number 1 is the lie, right? Because you hate bees ever since that clown dressed like a bee killed your family?
Yeah. That sucked. I’d hate honey, too. And clowns.

See, I am the opposite…I saw the words “honey” and “latte” and decided that was a disaster waiting to happen!

Hey, burnt sugar is still sugar. OK, no, that’s gross.

#4 (thanks to your hint)

sir: i told you that in confidence!
hilly: i have so much to learn from you, hilly. i just didn’t see the warning signs.
jennie!: it was really sickeningly sweetly gross.
sizzle: did i give too much away?

Yeah, honey latte is not something I’m dying to try. What next? A watermelon double cappuccino?
March 26th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
I fall into this same trap with the gingerbread latte. Every. Year. Marketing counts for a lot, I guess.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
I tried their green tea flavored latte…HOLY GROSS!
March 26th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
Hey, this game is a helluva lot easier than I remember.
I’m sorry you drank a bad thing.

“Starbucks described the honey latte as: a blend of honey and a touch of warm spice flavors combined with espresso and freshly steamed milk. Topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of pure, golden honey.”
Now just how much did you pay for this, young lady? (…hands on hips, tapping foot….)
March 26th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Oh. My. God. Isn’t it a crime to mix honey and espresso together? I’m so done with Starbucks. Except they have a really good Black and White cookie, sigh.

Honey must not play well with others. I love Burt’s Bees lip balm, but the honey version tastes like rancid motor oil. Bleh.

Honey and Coffee??? What were you thinking?! I hate starbucks anyway, and find everything they make really sickly – I had a bad experience once with a hazelnut hot chocolate that make me feel sick for about 3 days, but I had to drink cos it was so bloody expensive… phew, rant over. Er, is 4 the lie?
March 27th, 2008 at 9:19 am
It’s not you, Jenny… it’s where you live. They just don’t teach coffee appreciation properly in the midwest. Out here, they don’t even sell such abominations because they KNOW they won’t get any of us to fall for it. If only you’d move to the Northwest, you’d be safe.

At the coffee shop I got to in the AM –they have a Costco-sized bottle of honey on the counter. I see people put this honey in their regular coffee all the time…. damn hippies!

karl: a friend of mine just told me they sell blueberry coffee at dunkin donuts. blueberry!
cheryl: me too! except i fell for the egg nog latte… but i don’t even like egg nog! what’s wrong with me?
pants: wait… you’re not talking about the frappucino thing are you? because that one i actually liked. especially when they add the 2,000 calories of whipped cream to it. because you know – green tea is healthy.
churlita: won’t be the last time, i can assure you.
mom: i’m pretty sure you don’t want to know the answer to that.
lisa: i try to stay away from the bakery there since i was a little addicted to their maple scones.
dave2: honey is a lone wolf.
serap: i may have learned my lesson this time. anytime i stray from a standard latte or an occasional mocha, i’m disappointed.
shari: i always feel safe in the Northwest.
nat: hippies ruin everything!

Dude, they offer blueberry coffee at DD, but nobody actually ORDERS it. Silly Jenny.
March 28th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
ew. honey latte? honey really doesnt go well with anything coffee. they should stick to honey in tea only.
March 29th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
The only thing at starbucks I like is the Chai Latte and it was so nice coming back and having one. In Asia, the only place I could find one was Singapore! For shame. I too have had the green tea frappucino but it was too sweet…maybe it had too much honey in it!

What’s next? Salmon flavor?
